Keeter's Korner
Meet Mrs. Keeter
Beth Keeter has been in education for over 30 years. In the classroom for NC public schools for 25 years, as the Education Manager at the Florida Aquarium, the Director of Education at the Baltimore Zoo (Maryland Zoological Society),and NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center. She has taught at both East Carolina University and the University of Maryland.
She earned an Associated Degree in Graphic Arts: Printing Technology at Chowan College, her B.S.Ed and M.A.Ed from East Carolina University. She holds NC teacher licenses in Intermediate Education, Middle Grades Education, Science Education and Academically Gifted Education. Mrs. Keeter transferred to D.H. Conley when her youngest daughter went there as a Freshman. The joke is she decided to stalk her her last 4 years of school. Her daughter thinks it is obnoxious, Mrs. Keeter calls it good parenting. As an avid ECU Pirate fan (have you seen her classroom?) you will find Mrs. Keeter in Dowdy Ficklen Stadium every time the Pirates are playing a home football game and a few away games she can get to. Mrs. Keeter and her late husband were actually married at the football field and PeeDee the Pirate walked her down the aisle then stood in as the Best Man! Mrs. Keeter loves to travel and her favorite place to go is anywhere she has never been before. Just last year she went to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Yellow Stone National Park, Bozeman, Montana, and the Bahamas. She has participated in several mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Athens, Greece. One place she would like to go back to is Russia because she was there for several weeks in 1987 when it was still the USSR and a communist country. But she will gladly go, anywhere to experience our phenomenal earth! |
